Online Class Descriptions
Meisner Technique - Online
Watch this short video to meet your instructors and learn more about Meisner classes:
https://youtu.be/j7Zfgxu_TRk
Meisner training is an interdependent series of training exercises that build on one another. The more complex work supports a command of dramatic text. Students work on a series of progressively complex exercises to develop an ability to first improvise, then to access an emotional life, and finally to bring the spontaneity of improvisation and the richness of personal response to textual work. The techniques developed the behavioral strand of Stanislavski's. The technique is used to develop improvisation skills as well as "interpreting a script, and creating the specific physical characteristics of each character the actor played".
Improv- Online
Are you ready to take your acting skills to the next level? Improvisation is not just a tool; it’s a gateway to creativity, intuition, and unleashing the actor within you. Our improvisation course is designed to elevate your performance, fostering creativity, body awareness, concentration, and the freedom to explore your artistic instincts.
Script Analysis - Online
Unlock the secrets within the script and transform lines into captivating performances with our Script Analysis Online Class. Led by industry veteran Kellen, this class is your gateway to understanding characters beyond the written words and creating performances that are truly your own.
The Business of Acting - Online
This class is designed to help actors understand the business side of the acting industry. It is a Q&A style class.
This class is taught by Kellen Boyle. Kellen is a working actor in Atlanta, GA. He studied acting at Marietta College and Houde School of Acting. Kellen has been involved in major motion pictures, including The Marksman starring Liam Neeson, Chick Fight, starring Alec Baldwin and Malin Akerman and many others. He's also in TV shows including MacGyver, Doom Patrol, Swagger Dead Silent and others.
Studio Hour Sessions
With the purchase of this package you will also receive weekly bonus class Studio Hour sessions.
Studio Hour sessions are on Wednesdays from 4-6 PM (ET). This time is set aside for additional practice and for students to ask any questions that require personal attention (such as developing Activities, or practicing Emotional Preparation).
These sessions are hosted by Diana Frankhauser
Houde School of Acting does not offer refunds if you drop/cancel a class or workshop. If you drop a class no later than a full week before the first day of class we will offer a full credit for the following month of class.
Due to the format of the classes, there are no make-up classes. We encourage you to attend as many classes as possible but don't worry if you miss a class. You can pick up your studies where you left off in your last class.
We are looking forward to working with you in class.
