Welcome to our Young Actors Online Acting Class, specially crafted for budding talents aged 8-14. Whether your child is just starting or has some acting experience, this class is tailored to elevate their skills and nurture their passion for acting.

• Viola Spolin Theatre Games: Engage in warm-ups and improvisational exercises inspired by Viola Spolin, fostering self-expression, spontaneity, intuition, and collaboration.

• Meisner Technique Foundations: Learn the Meisner Technique, living truthfully under imaginary circumstances, and accessing authentic emotions in a safe environment.

• Concentration and Relaxation: Master exercises to release nerves and anxiety, valuable for auditions, performances, and daily life.

Monthly Topics Include:

• Script Analysis: Explore the 5 W’s of given circumstances and enhance cold-reading skills.

• Audition Techniques: Learn the ins and outs of auditions, gaining confidence in the audition room or in front of the camera.

• Character Development: Develop characters with depth, bringing scripts to life with authenticity.

• Self-Tape Feedback: Receive personalized feedback on self-tape submissions, aiding in continuous improvement.

*Please note that there are sometimes class assignments regarding memorization, script analysis, or self-tapes intended to help better prepare students for real-world scenarios from week to week. Basic reading skills are strongly recommended for participation in this class. (Recommended Ages- 8-14)*

About Angela Katherine Baker:

Angela studied the Meisner Technique under Jessica Houde-Morris and continues to take Meisner classes as an advanced student in our in-person classes.
Before Houde school, Angela graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Theatre, English, and Speech Education and a Masters in Theatre Critical Studies with an emphasis in Dramaturgy.

Houde School of Acting does not offer refunds if you drop/cancel a class or workshop. If you drop a class no later than a full week before the first day of class we will offer a full credit for the following month of class.

Due to the format of the classes, there are no make-up classes. We encourage you to attend as many classes as possible but don't worry if you miss a class. You can pick up your studies where you left off in your last class.
